reef under fire (please email)
Nov 19, 2008 - 8:19 AM - by countbaysea
In todays wynnum herald the whole front page story reads "reef under fire" http://wynnum-herald.whereilive.com....ory/reef-wars/
The greens are trying to fight the 3 artificial reefs planned for the bay. They state it is "ludicrous" and "scientifically unfounded"

Tthey ask for emails to the question

"Should artificial reefs be installed in a marine park"

email editorial@wynnumherald.com.au for responses.

Can everyone send them a quick email.

Who can tell me anything about our "peak" representative fishing body? Is anyone a member? How are their executive committees formed and who guides their policy. I was interested to read their submission on the RRFF proposals. They seem to be the same point of view as most of us.
http://www.sunfishqld.com.au/docs/Ro...sion_final.doc

Is it worth getting a few more AFers involved in this body that is meant to be representing us all?

Bay Professionals Rally this Sunday against EPA for a fair go!
Nov 20, 2008 - 8:53 PM - by Grant Bennett
This e-mail just to hand:

BOAT RALLY THIS SUNDAY 23rd NOVEMBER!!!

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

As you may have heard, the MBSIA and QSIA are organising a boat rally to protest against the EPAs inadequate Structural Adjustment Package and poor treatment of the seafood and related industries of Moreton Bay.

MBSIA Chairman, Rob Brock is back on deck, and with strong support from our members, we intend to create a big enough event to make the media, public and politicians to sit up and listen eg. EPA WANTS TO PROTECT ITS $$$ BUDGET, NOT MORETON BAY

The protest is going to... [Read More]

Group Formation to start the fight
Oct 22, 2008 - 10:19 AM - by TimiBoy
Folks,

Enough's been said, it's time to do. I have absolutely no idea how to do it, excepting that I know I have a responsibility. I need hands up from people who feel the same, who are ready to get together to work on development of "The Movement".

We need an executive group, and from there, we work. I am apolitical, so if you want to get involved, leave your personal power agenda at home. This is a Societal issue, and we have to slow and eventually stop this ridiculous Green Agenda.

Please, if you have nothing positive to say, bag it. This has to get moving, or we will lose our fishing. Simple.

I look forward to an avalanche of pm's. We will have to meet soon, so once I have an idea of who's interested, we'll get a venue sorted.

Cheers,

Tim
