A question on notice was asked on the 14th Feb and the minister has finally made the following reply;
Question on Notice No. 110
Asked on Thursday, 14 February 2008
QUESTION:
MR WEIGHTMAN asked the Minister for Sustainability, Climate Change and
Innovation (Mr McNamara) — Will he outline the Government’s position in
relation to artificial reefs in Moreton Bay?
ANSWER:
The science associated with artificial reefs has progressed enormously in
recent years. Therefore, this Government believes that we need to move

My concerns were passed on to the Minister For Sustainability Andrew McNamara MP who sent his reply back via Margaret Keech. I thought I would... [Read More]

This information was passed on to me via email, and I thought I would post it here in case some were unaware, please take the time to sign the petition if you can.
Thanks Skippa,
This topic is pretty important to me, my family and friends. My sisters and I grew up on this island (since I was 5 years old), and still go there nearly every second weekend. These beach closures are unnecessary, and are not clearly being put in place for any environmental reasons. We are not disputing the beach closure at Cowan Cowan, as this is for environmental reasons. The other beaches (Combi and North Point) are being closed to vehicle access... [Read More]
